CHANGE TO THE PLANNED TALK.
(Also see details, below, of our July 4th trip to Ironbridge and Wroxeter).
CHANGE TO THE PLANNED TALK
Our planned talk on Roman Alcester has had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
We will, however, have a talk about…
“…what we learnt about life from 1820 to 1900 in Coventry, Birmingham, Rugby and Solihull during our research of the story of Canon Charles Evans (1824 to 1904).” Charles Evans was Rector of Solihull 1872-1894.
DAY VISIT TO IRONBRIDGE AND WROXETER 4th JULY 2026
The SAG 2026 summer trip will be on Saturday 4th July 2026. We will travel by coach to Ironbridge where we will have about 3 hours to explore the lovely town.
From Ironbridge we will make our way to Roman Wroxeter for the afternoon. We will receive a guided tour by Dr. Roger White with free time afterwards to explore the site.
The cost will be £43 per person (£35 for members of English Heritage) which includes all coach travel and entry costs to Wroxeter. The coach will leave central Solihull at 9.00 am and should be back in Solihull at about 5.45 – 6.00pm.
If you would like to go on this visit, please contact our treasurer using the email address below or see him at our next meeting.
